How we pick

Pick a Pram is independent. No brand or shop can pay to be recommended or to appear higher up.

Which prams we include

We include prams that a newborn can use from birth, either in a carrycot or newborn pack, or in a seat that the maker says lies flat for newborns. We follow the NHS advice that young babies should lie flat.

Where our numbers come from

Specs come from the maker's own UK website wherever possible, and from major UK retailers' published specs when the maker doesn't say. Where sources disagree we use the maker's figure. If we can't find something published, we say "Not stated" rather than guess.

The newborn setup price

We show the cheapest way we found to be ready from birth. If a pram needs a carrycot that's sold separately, we add it. If the maker says the seat can be used from birth, we don't add a carrycot, but we tell you a carrycot is optional.

How the finder works

We first remove prams over your budget or not on sale. We then score the rest on what you told us matters: weight if you have stairs or use buses, folded size if space is tight, wheels and suspension for rougher paths, and any must-haves. The reasons we show are the things that scored highest for each pram.
